Reconciliation Week at Our Lady fo Lourdes Catholic School 2025
During Reconciliation Week, students at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School participated in a range of engaging and meaningful activities to deepen their understanding and appreciation of First Nations culture. All students contributed to a vibrant Reconciliation Week banner, proudly displayed in the school. They enjoyed a special screening of Little J and Big Cuz, created beautiful yarn turtles, explored First Nations art through scratch designs, and took part in Reconciliation-themed colouring activities. Many also had fun crafting colourful 3D turtles.
The week was filled with joy, creativity, and learning.
A heartful thank you to Ms Sara Yassiere and Ms Robyn Smallwood for generously sharing their culture and stories with the students. What a wonderful week of connection and celebration.

Year 3 Mathematics Project @ Ingham Botanical Gardens
Last week, our Year 3 students had a wonderful opportunity to take their maths learning outdoors with a Mini Park Maths Project at the Ingham Botanical Gardens.
The students explored a variety of hands-on activities, including estimating and measuring the length of natural and man-made objects, classifying 3D shapes found in the environment, and creating 2D representations of their surroundings. It was fantastic to see how they applied their classroom knowledge in a real-world setting!
The Year 3 students thoroughly enjoyed their morning in the fresh air, surrounded by the lush beauty of Ingham's beautiful park and gardens.
