Kym Giliberto - Our Lady of Lourdes catholic School, Ingham
Confirmation
Our Sacramental Program resumes this week. Again, it will be held in Mercy Hall beside St Patrick’s Church, Ingham, on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm and Thursday at 3:30 pm. The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated with First Holy Communion on September 14 at 8:30 am at St Patrick’s, Ingham.
School Mass
Last Friday, we celebrated Mass with the school. The readings were based on the coming Sunday, which was Pentecost Sunday. Father John spoke to the children about the power of the Holy Spirit and how it gives us the courage to go out and be more like Jesus. The students were wonderful with their singing and responses during Mass.
Class Visit
It was lovely to be invited to visit Year 1 and join in their meditation, as well as to appreciate the wonderful work they have been doing in Religious Education. I’ve been invited back next week to see the final product. I can’t wait! Great job, Year 1!
We were delighted to welcome Father Jomi into our classrooms this week.
Father Jomi spent time with the students discussing what they’ve been learning in Religious Education and answered their thoughtful questions with warmth and insight. The children thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to engage with him.
Thank you, Father Jomi, for your time and your presence in our school community.

The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus - June 27
The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is a celebration that falls 19 days after Pentecost. On June 27, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. This day reminds us of Jesus's incredible and everlasting love!
Catholic Education Week
Catholic schools across Queensland will again celebrate Catholic Education Week in 2025, with the theme "Communities of Faith, Hope, and Love." This theme captures the essence of what it means to be part of a Catholic school community. Faith ignites growth. Hope fuels support. Love welcomes all. Together, these pillars nurture students’ spirits, empower teachers, and embrace families, creating a vibrant learning community where everyone thrives.
Catholic Education Week’s theme aligns with the 2025 Jubilee Year theme: Pilgrims of Hope. This reminds us of the profound significance of hope and its universal reach.
God Bless
